So, Laura, Noah and I met at Flick Park yesterday. We shared Coffee and the Word. Laura's husband bought some blueberry creamer, so it smelled like a bakery-YUM! She also packed a picnic basket with cheese, fruit and applecake goodness. I packed Noah's "basic necessities" which weighed around 35 pounds.
We found some shade, sat down in red and blue gingham loungers, and talked. It is so refreshing to hang out with another married Christian woman. There are many topics that are easier to share with other wives.
The sun was peeking in through the leaves, so we moved a few times. Noah enjoyed taking his bottle over the course of an hour. Usually he takes about 5-10 minutes, but I brought a slow flow nipple and he seemed content. We talked and ate and talked some more.
Laura prayed and we opened our Bibles. She thanked Him for our fellowship, a beautiful day, freedom to gather and study, and that His Word is LIVING. We shared Philippians 4 which is very uplifting. The Book of Philippians pulled me through many moments during Noah's hospital stay.
Then Laura mentioned a few other scriptures that she has been pondering. 2 Timothy 1:7 came up from her "Bread of Life" box. It is a tiny ceramic breadbox with laminated scriptures inside. How cute and clever!! She and her husband have been reading Colossians together. I'll have to get in there again soon!
Eventually, the blueberry coffee proved too much and we had to go (the bathrooms were locked). What a great way to spend the afternoon!!!
